LTA Design Project

In this project, I collaborated with a team of 4 other engineers to create a lighter-than-air (LTA) aircraft. The idea was to minimize aircraft weight while ensuring structural stability and the capability to hold a one-kilogram load. We elected to use an outer shell of balsa wood, with a painted paper shell. Our craft was held aloft by hybrid lift system consisting of a helium balloon and two brushless electric motors. For a propellant, we attached another brushless motor attached to a servo, allowing for thrust vectoring in a 160-degree arc.
